Bern University Library

The University Library Bern provides services for students, faculty, and researchers; as a cantonal library it is open to a broad public, too.  Approximately 300.000 volumes and maps from the library's Special Collections Center at the Münstergasse Library, 2.500 historical maps and printed works from the Swiss Library of Eastern Europe SOB, as well as other collections of institute libraries are available in EOD. Among the highlights of the collection are 470 incunabula, the library of the French diplomat Jacques Bongars (1554-1612), 16.000 maps, plans and topographic views in the Ryhiner Collection, and the “Rossica Europeana” featuring historic maps and books of Russia and Eastern Europe from the 16th to the 19th century.
